Probably all of us are familiar with the expression, "DEUCES ARE WILD
." Even if we are not card players, we have heard people use this phrase. I guess it originated from playing cards, and the dealer declaring that the TWO's or the DEUCE's in the deck would serve as "Wild Cards", meaning they could be used as any card that the players wished to declare them to be.
Well, let's have a little fun with Bible numerology, which I will call, "DEUCES ARE WILD
Please notice how many significant things regarding God and the salvation of mankind are found in CHAPTER #2
of various books of the Bible.GENESIS 2
-- God's perfect creation; mankind has access to the tree of life; God designs marriage and the home; God and mankind are in perfect harmony and mankind is in God's very presence, right where God desires His children to be.ISAIAH 2
– God promises to establish His new kingdom, which will be open to all nations (not just Israel); the word of the Lord will go forth from Jerusalem (Isaiah 2:2-3).DANIEL 2
-- Daniel explains King Nebuchadnezzar's dream; God reveals that in the time of the Roman empire He will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed, which will be greater than any earthly kingdom, and which shall stand forever (Daniel 2:44).JOEL 2
-- God promises to send His Holy Spirit to aid mankind; this Spirit will be instrumental in the salvation of all who will turn to God (Joel 2:28-32).MALACHI 2
-- God cries against two great sins that His people have committed: His designated priests, who were to be the messengers of the Lord, have departed from God's law (His word) and have caused the people to stumble or turn away from God (vs. 7-8); and, the people have broken God's marriage covenant (given by Him in Gen. 2), and divorce, which God hates, was very prevalent (Malachi 2:14-16).LUKE 2
-- Jesus Christ, the promised Son of God, is born; He will be a Savior to bring peace, joy and goodwill between God and mankind; to restore the perfect relationship that God originally had with mankind back in Gen. 2, before man sinned against God.ACTS 2
-- God fulfills His promises to establish His new kingdom; this spiritual kingdom, which will stand forever (Dan. 2), began in Jerusalem (Isaiah 2), with the preaching of the good news of the risen Savior – Jesus Christ, who God raised from the dead; the Holy Spirit came as promised (Joel 2) to speak through the apostles to tell mankind how to be forgiven of their sins (vs. 38-41); the Lord established His church and He added the saved to it (Acts 2:47).
I think these "DEUCES (TWOS) ARE WILD
," don't you?
